The Joint Committee on the Port of Baltimore was created in October 2000 (Chapter 509, Acts of 2000). The Committee is to examine and evaluate issues affecting the competitive position of the Port of Baltimore within the international port industry. Among issues to be examined are the regulations adopted by the State Board of Pilots, the State Board of Docking Masters, and the Maryland Port Commission (Code State Government Article, sec. 2-10A-07).
